Snow Days

Due to the two snow days this week, we will NOT be having a spelling test on Thursday or Friday. Students will also not have spelling homework tonight. They will, however, still need to read for 15 minutes and work on math facts.

Don't forget - the Shrine Circus field trip is next Friday!! A note will be coming home with your student next week to remind you of the details.

Valentine boxes are due on Monday. Students can also start passing out valentines on Monday. All valentines need to be here by next Thursday. Valentine boxes will go home with students on Friday, February 14th.

50% of your child's AR goal was due on Wednesday. An updated AR letter will be coming home soon to let you and your child know where they are on their AR goal.

Talent Show

Don't forget: 3rd Grade Talent Show will be MONDAY, February 3rd!

Snowman Building Contest 1/10/14

We had a great time at our last Marble Party building snowmen! The 3rd graders were divided into 3 teams. Each team worked together to build a snowman on playground. Everyone did a fantastic job and had lots of fun!

Experimenting with Magnets

We have been reading the Magic School Bus book "Amazing Magnetism." We learn something new about magnets in each chapter. As we've learned new things, we've been experimenting with magnets. Some of our experiments have been: finding out which materials are or are not magnetic, making temporary magnets with paperclips, and how magnets attract and repel each other.

Disguise the Turkey Contest Winner

The Disguise the Turkey Contest ended today. Everyone did such a great job! The creativity and hard work put into these turkeys is phenomenal. I'm very proud of each of the 3rd graders who participated in this contest. The judge chose winners from each class. The winner for 3A was Anthony!
